Nicole C. Rust, PhD, is a professor and brain researcher at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her research combines behavioral, neural and computational approaches to understand the brain's remarkable ability to remember the things we've seen and to determine how memory dysfunction can be repaired.

She is currently writing a book about brain research which she hopes will inspire community-based conversations among scientists and with society. To hear more on that topic before the book is out, follow her on Twitter: @NicoleCRust.
